Thursday Dec. 6, 2007: A young Franklin High School squad, out of the Sacramento area, defeated Eureka as Julian Welch scored 35 points including six
3- pointers in the victory. Not to be outdone was junior Greg Allen for Eureka as he scored 38 points and had 10 assists to account for nearly all of Eureka’s points. Luke Devenny had 16 points and 16 rebounds as Piner defeated McKinleyville. Arcata played sound defense to defeat Anderson and Red Bluff narrowly defeated Fortuna as Cole McKenzie had 15 points for the victors.

Friday Dec. 7, 2007: Ken Bettendorf scored 21 points to lead McKinleyville in the win and Austin Free scored 11 points as Fortuna defeated Anderson. Piner and Franklin hooked up for one of the most well-played games in recent tournament history, with very few fouls and great defense setting the standard. The teams were tied with 34 points at halftime, but Piner pulled away late in the contest. In the nightcap, Jordan Bianco had 20 points as Arcata held on to defeat Red Bluff.

Saturday Dec. 8, 2007: A much improved Anderson squad nearly defeated Eureka. McKinleyville won the Consolation trophy over Fortuna, who was led by Skyler Rice’s 27 points. Franklin placed 3rd by defeating Red Bluff. The Championship game was tight in the first half as Piner led 24-22. Jordan Bianco and Timmy Couch led Arcata, but four consecutive 3-point shots by Simon Semere, who had 21 points on the night, brought Piner the win in the 40th Annual AIBT.
